Why I don’t use Firefox
Even with the release of Firefox 3 I still remain an avid Safari user. Why?
Because when I was using Firefox 2 I was bit two many times with it crashing on me over and over again and it using to much in the way of system resources. I didn’t use any extensions (I don’t feel I found any that I really need to use or enhance my computing experience exponentially).
Yes, I know Firefox 3 has changed all of this, but still. I have no need to. Safari does everything that I need and more. It’s faster, looks better and has better integration with the OS.
It’s a simple reason, but they’re simple problems - sorry Firefox but I’m not about to switch today.
I know a lot of you probably think I’m wrong, why?

Maybe you should grab FF3 and give it a go.
I have no stats or benchmarks, but i’ve been using it for about a week now and actually seems to render pages and javascript better than safari (granted i’m lacking a bit in the ram department..) but also haven’t had the browser crash on me yet.
Also.. FF3 actually looks really nice under OSX now… it’s visual integration is much better than previous versions.
But like you’ve already said.. if you have no use for extensions then Safari would probably be ok.. personally.. i couldn’t possibly survive on a day to day basis without Firebug… *shrug*
July 4th, 2008 at 9:18 amI’m using Firefox 3 and on some websites, especially when opening tabs, it’s seriously buggy!
Under Windows, It’s better than Safari and IE. Hopefully these bugs wll be fixed soon!
July 4th, 2008 at 10:34 ami am using FF2 not because I want to, in fact, I hate it. If not because my IE’s gone bust I won’t be using it right now. The features of dragging a page on the top bar plus others are impressive. But the way the webpage doesn’t go all the way down when I press ‘end’ is annoying. I don’t find it buggy at all but the way the programme is written is just unbearable! such as when I want to switch tab I can’t press cntrl no or press the tab whichever I feel like, it is one or the other whichever the programme wants me to at that time!
