Colophon

Hi there, I’m Jonathan and this is my weblog. I’m a writer, podcaster and student currently living in the south of England. This blog was created purely to archive my thoughts on an matters that I feel are worth my time. Some other random facts about me include: I love cars, especially Aston Martins, hockey is my favourite sport, and I hate peas.

I write for several different blogs including Blogging Adventure (my own creation), Desktop Vibes and A New Take. I also host and guest host many different podcasts such as Tech Today (soon to be relaunching under a new name), VibeCast and a Sci-Fi and Fantasy podcast is currently in the works.

I write this blog for myself primarily, but also for others in the hope that just one thing I say might change the way people think about the world that we are privileged enough to live in.

Behind the scenes

JonathanDavies.org.uk was first launched (properly) in August 2007. However, after over a year of publishing I felt dissatisfied with what I was writing and the messages that I was conveying to those few who read my blog. So I decided a fresh start was necessary. What you are reading now is that fresh start.

This weblog runs on the WordPress content management system, I track all my visitors through Mint, publish my feeds via Feedburner and finally write all you see in MarsEdit. The site is hosted with Siteground, and so far have had a reasonably good experience with them.

Macintosh

Strangely enough, I don’t like working at my desk (I’m writing this on my kitchen table), so the purchase of a MacBook Air for me was a godsend. I carry is around with me everywhere, along with my iPhone for those times when the Air is not appropriate.

As for applications that I use all the time; Twitterific pretty much keeps me tapped in to the internet, Things makes sure I’m doing what I’m meant to be, and Flow uploads just about everything I do to the web.

Contact and Connect

Please, please email me. Whether it be a suggestion, question, typo or you just want to chat - shoot me an email, I won’t bite!

As any geek has to, I’m tied into several social networks. Those that you can find me active on the most are: Twitter, Flickr and also on my other weblog - Blogging Adventure.
